SERVER
INFORMATION
IDSAuction
is a client server system. The
server holds both the database and the main
program files. Each client PC has a simple
login app installed which connects the user
to the main program on the server. This
makes future updates a simple process
because the application can simply be
updated in one location.
The
database our system uses is Microsoft SQL
Server. By default we supply the Express
version but we can also install the database
on other versions if you already have them
or wish to purchase one.
The
database and server application can be
installed and setup on a PC on your network
(only recommended for Express version of SQL
Server) or a dedicated server.
CLIENT
INFORMATION
All client
PC's will need the login application
installed and will need .Net 3.5 framework
(supplied with installation) to
operate.
NETWORK
OPTIONS
The
software can be operated over a standard
network as well as WAN and VPN allowing
remote sites to connect to the main server.
OFFSITE
AUCTIONS
We also
provide a offsite version which enables you
to take a cut down version of the software
on a laptop or PC's to do offsite auctions.
When you return you simply export and import
the sale data back to the main system.
